Form is the overall structure of a piece of music. Just like books can be organized into chapters, paragraphs, and sentences, pieces can be organized into Sections (chapters), Passages (paragraphs), and Phrases (sentences). A common example of form would be the Verse/Chorus form that much of today’s popular music is made from.
